Doing Our Bit

Britannia Fire are helping to improve the lives of refugees in Calais through the donation of fire extinguishers.
We dispatched a pallet of 50 refurbished extinguishers from our Ashwellthorpe factory, to a team building wooden shelters for the 6,000 refugees in the camp, just before Christmas.
The extinguishers were sent out after an appeal by the Bristol based group Building Support through Shelter.
Our General Manager, Andy Spence, said more pallets of extinguishers were being sent to France. “Soon after the extinguishers arrived, I was sent an email with photos of fires that had been put out with our extinguishers. This really hit home to us the real need for them in such a high-risk environment of a high density of people cooking on open fire and living in tents.”
